14-year-old Basalt resident Nyala Honey has published two young adult novels and will be at Explore on June 8 at 2:00 to talk about them.  In Coven of the Silver Moon, Dolo Morgan is an orphan, an alley rat.  She's always thought she wouldn’t amount to anything. But one day, her life is turned upside down. She discovers the hidden truth about her mother, Genezis Morgan. Magic is real, as Dolo finds out. And it will change her life.

In the post-apocalyptic The Silent One, COVID’s sixth wave has proved insurmountable, and the United States is gone. Terrifying things are happening in the newly-formed nation of Astlen. More terrifying still, no one is investigating or even talking about the nightly murders. But four teens have a theory. They’re out to reveal the truth and avenge the senseless killings occurring in their young country, saving Astlen and their futures in the process.
