Security

To protect the security of the personal and credit card information you provide on our online order page, the Explore Booksellers and Bistro web site uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL encrypts your information so that no one other than the Explore BookSellers will be able to decode it. SSL establishes a secure connection between your computer and our computers, and that connection remains secure until you submit or cancel an order. To assure your connection is secure, simply check the lower left corner of your browser window after you access the server. If you see a closed lock or an unbroken key (the icon varies dependent on the browser you are using), SSL is working. For added security, all orders are processed in house by our full time staff rather than through a third party.

Privacy Statement

Explore Booksellers and Bistro promises to protect your privacy and personal information, whether you provide it intentionally or inadvertently, in our store or online. The personal information you submit to Explore Booksellers will not be shared, sold, or disclosed to third parties in any form, for any purposes, at any time. This information includes, but is not limited to, your email address, mailing address, phone number or demographic information. Other than individual communications written specifically to you, all out-going customer emails conform to an opt-in policy, which means you have to elect to receive information from us and can choose to discontinue receiving it at any time. In addition, we will not share information identifying your purchases with any third party without your permission or otherwise disclose it to anyone, including the government, unless legally required to do so.

Thank you to the readers of Mountain Living magazine for naming Explore the "Best Bookstore in the High Country (from Tuscon AZ to north of the Canadian border; Denver to California.) We strive to offer a unique bookstore experience. We're glad you like it.

1,000 Dollars & an Idea
Explore Booksellers may be a quaint independent bookstore, but when it comes to business there is nothing quaint about its owner. Over the past half-century self-made billionaire Sam Wyly has reshaped the American business landscape. Fortune Magazine called him "one of the most, if not the most, important entrepreneurs" of the 20th century. Now with the hailed publication of his memoir, he's also a successful author.
1,000 Dollars & an Idea is a business book... a memoir... an economic history of modern America... and an entertaining tale of the American Dream. It's selling fast at bookstores across the country. But if you want a signed first edition, order it from the author's bookstore.

Extra special books

At Explore we're surronded by worthwhile books, but some we offer have added value. First, famous authors from around the world visit Aspen and make it a point to come to Explore. As a result, we have a number of author autographed books including many signed first editions. (Click "recommended" on the navigation bar to see a complete list.) Plus our rare and out-of-print section can reconnect you with your childhood favorites, add a classic to your collection or provide the perfect one-of-a-kind gift.
